Honey

This ingredient is important because when mixed with hot lemon water, it is the one that will fight off colds, flus and allergies. Plus, it cuts the sourness of the lemon. What you must remember is that you need to get local raw honey, seasonal if possible. The reason for this is the bees themselves providing the natural antigens from season to season. With everyone looking for alternate sweeteners I am always surprised they forget honey. It’s my sweetener of choice with SO many benefits! Add honey to tea and coffee.....

Drink Lemon Water

Drinking lemon water is a natural way to lose weight. Lemons help to detoxify the body, cleansing the body of its stores of toxins from food and the environment that may lend to weight gain and water retention. They reduce cholesterol and stimulate the cleansing function of the liver and pancreas.
Although the lemon is often thought of as acidic, it is very effective in curing many digestion problems when mixed with hot water, including biliousness, nausea, heartburn, disorders of the lower intestines like constipation and worm infestations. It is even known to relieve hiccups.
Water plus a few lemons becomes lemon juice. Lemon juice, when taken regularly in the morning, acts as a tonic to the liver and stimulates it to produce bile making it ready to digest the day’s food. It is also thought to help dissolve gallstones. Because of its high vitamin C content, it is thought to help prevent and treat many infections, hasten wound healing and temper down high fever.
Lemon juice also relieves symptoms of asthma, tonsillitis and sore throat.
Lemon is also a diuretic. This means it is good for people with urinary tract infections and high uric acid problems, such as those with arthritis or rheumatism because it helps flush out all the toxins and bad bacteria. When lemon is mixed with coffee, it is thought to help treat malaria. This concoction is also effective for headaches.
Lemon is considered Acidic but it Alkalizes the body which is what the above statements are saying. An alkaline body is an environment where disease cannot find it’s home and lemons are one of the Number one ways of doing this.

Drink Your Milk.

Think you’re getting a nutritional boost from your morning cereal? Up to 40 percent of the vitamins in fortified cereals dissolve in the milk. If you don’t drink the leftover cow juice, you’re not getting the fancy-pants nutrients!

Ice It, Ace It.

Drink a few glasses of ice-cold water before and during exercise. Studies show that the cold stuff can improve endurance by about 23 percent. And ice water forces your body to expend calories warming it up, boosting your metabolism as well.

Lift, Damn It!.

Verbally expressing emotion while lifting increases muscle strength by up to 25 percent. (Of course, it also increases your risk of being tossed out of the gym by the same percentage . . .) Or get someone to scream at you: You’ll be able to lift 5 to 8 percent more weight if you get verbal encouragement from a trainer or workout partner.

Pick The Red One.

Red cabbage has 15 times as much wrinkle-fighting betacarotene as green cabbage. Red bell peppers have up to nine times as much vitamin C as green ones.

Spear A Hangover

To reduce the severity of a hangover, order a side of asparagus. When South Korean researchers exposed a group of human liver cells to asparagus extract, the extract suppressed free radicals and more than doubled the effects of two enzymes responsible for metabolizing alcohol.

Don’t Buy Wheat Bread.

Huh? Isn’t it good for me? Actually, “wheat bread” is often just white bread dyed with molasses to make it look dark. Look instead for “100 percent whole wheat” or “whole grain.” Even better: rye bread. Swedish researchers found that 8 hours after people ate rye, they felt less hungry than those who noshed wheat bread, thanks to rye’s high fiber content.

Listen To Your Feet.

If you can hear yourself running, you’re setting yourself up for injury. Pounding the pavement comes from bad form. Keep your feet close to the ground and use a quick, shuffling stride.
